Our youth ministry is open to those who are in grades 6 through 12.
All our ministries to youth are open to all teens and church membership is not required.
Beginning at 9:00 a.m. with our opening exercises, which consists of contemporary Christian music, our Youth Sunday School Class is held in our Youth Room each Sunday morning beginning at 9:15 a.m. Led by a passionate teacher, our youth dive into scripture and learn how to apply it to their everyday lives.
Our youth group is open to all teens in middle and high school and meets each Sunday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A youth message and games highlight the regular fellowship time. Snacks are also served.
Our Drop-In Center is open on the first and third Saturday evening of each month from 6 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. It offers a place for youth to just “hang out.” The hang out room has couches for just sitting around, snacks and drinks, board games, and crafts. Equipped also with ping pong, foosball, and dart boards, air hockey tables the more active teen can take on the competition. Indoor nerf soccer is often played and movies are also shown from time to time on the big-screen TV. Community Service projects and participation in community festivals and parades are included in this ministry.
Other youth fellowship opportunities include: mission trips, retreats, participation in Sunday morning worship, outdoor games, baseball games, and other fun events.
Youth are invited each summer to attend our New Jersey Baptist Camp – Camp Lebanon, located in Lebanon, New Jersey. Camp Lebanon has been a favorite site for campers since 1949. From June to September Camp Lebanon offers overnight camp for children from 1st through 12th grade. Counselors from across the nation and from many foreign countries come to Camp Lebanon for many reasons, but primarily they find it to be a place to become closer to God and to share His love with the campers. Children enjoy the love, warmth, laughter, tears, friendships, fun, and memories which remain throughout the years. You can visit Camp Lebanon’s website at www.camplebanon.com
Our priority at First Baptist is that each youth develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Classes, which prayerfully lead to a life-changing decision are available for our youth. Baptism by immersion is practiced at First Baptist.
We value each of our youth. As a matter of church policy, each of our volunteers and staff are required to have comprehensive identity and criminal background checks performed by “Protect My Ministry.”
