Rev. Dr. Mark A. Stauffer
Pastor Mark is a native of Norristown, Pennsylvania. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Eastern College (now Eastern University) in Saint David’s, Pennsylvania, a Master of Divinity degree from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary (now Palmer Seminary) and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Palmer Seminary in Leadership of Missional Church Renewal.
Pastor Mark began his working career in the finance and business fields. But it wasn’t until he was in his late 30s, and while leading his local church youth group, that God called Mark to fulltime ministry. Before being called to pastor First Baptist Church of Bordentown in 2016, Pastor Mark pastored churches in Silver Spring, Maryland and Alderson and Saint Albans, West Virginia.
Pastor Mark’s passion is leading people to Jesus Christ by becoming part of their lives. He lives mission. Pastor Mark has been on mission trips within proximity to the churches he pastored, as well as throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, and around the world including Bolivia, Mexico, Haiti, and with his wife to Thailand and the Bahamas.
Pastor Mark is passionate about community ministry. He has led his congregations to begin an afterschool program, English classes, preschool, high school for at risk teens, food pantry/clothes closet, and citizenship classes, a Thrift Shop and Home Repair ministry, weekly snack bags to needy students, all the while leading his congregations to renewed passion towards missions. Pastor Mark has also been effective in identifying and training potential leaders for ministry, with the goal to transform lives and transform communities.
In 2008 Mark received both the Ward W. Hibbs Ministerial Award from Alderson Broaddus College for distinguished service, effectiveness, and faithfulness in town and country ministry; and the Rosa O. Hall Rural and Small Town Award from the Home Mission Societies of the American Baptist Churches-USA for faithful, effective leadership in rural church ministry.
Mark and his wife Lynne have two grown married children and one granddaughter. Mark enjoys home repair, sports, travel and his two dogs – Ajax & Munchkin.
